an old friend...

with a new face! I have had this mini commode for 3 years now. It moved with me to several flats, in different parts of Austria. Now that I got a nice flat, with massive ferroconcrete walls, I decided to drill some holes and mount it. Of course I had to upgrade it's look! Here's a pic of the original mini commode!

It was clear painted so I grabbed my sanding machine and started sanding it down. Afterwards I painted the whole thing with "Behnandla" Antique glazing paint which I bought at IKEA. I had some old knobs flying round in my toolbox so I turned the drawers around, drilled holes and used them instead. Take a look on how it turned out. I simply love it.

My intention

When I was younger and started my first job I turned into a modern day zombie. I woke up early and hurried to work, afterwards to meet friends, do some shopping, clean the apartment, do some sport, get a bite to eat. Everything had to happen fast and everyday was filled with lots and lots of new experiences. I had to achieve greatness at my job faster then everybody else, I had to have a fulfilled live even though I never fully understood what that meant. We are born into a world that teaches us nothing else then to be the best you can be everyday. We are raised and programmed to become the cream of the crop. We are set up to fail! Waking up you start to breathe stress and pressure, you endure it every day. If you are lucky you can escape this situation once in a while but for most people even the weekends and bank holidays are stressful. So I decided to take a few steps back and look at the big picture. There is no such thing called "waste of time". Cut down on the hectic that the outside world holds and focus on the beauty that you can create inside your home with your own hands! Sit down, breathe and do something that gives you joy. Find your own version of "live life to the fullest"!
